Meet & Greet at the Airport: What It Is, What It Costs and When It Is Worth It

Driver greeting a passenger and taking her suitcase in an airport arrivals hall

When you land after a long flight, the last thing you want is to hunt for your car. Meet & Greet means your driver is waiting for you inside the arrivals hall. This guide explains what it includes, what it costs, how pickups work without it, and when it is worth adding.

What is Meet & Greet?

With Meet & Greet, your driver parks and waits for you inside the arrivals hall. When you come through, they help you with your bags out to the car. It is not included as standard: it is an optional extra.

  • Price: £10 per leg.
  • Where: only on a leg that starts at an airport, because that is where you arrive and need meeting. On a return trip, for example, you can add it to the leg that picks you up from the airport.
  • How to add it: choose Meet & Greet at the booking step, after you have picked your vehicle.

How pickups work without Meet & Greet

Once your booking is confirmed, we email you your driver’s name, mobile number and vehicle registration. When you land, collect your luggage, go to the airport’s pickup point and call or text your driver to say you are ready. Each airport has its own pickup arrangements:

  • Heathrow: pick-ups on the terminal forecourt are not allowed, so you meet your driver at the terminal’s car park or an agreed point. See our Heathrow terminals guide.
  • Luton: you meet your driver in the airport’s Pick Up Zone or at a meeting point you agree. See our Luton Airport taxi guide.
  • Stansted: pick-ups take place in the Short Stay car parks (Green or Blue). See our Stansted booking tips.
  • Gatwick and Manchester: call or text your driver on the number we send you to agree where to meet. See our Gatwick airport taxi guide.

When is Meet & Greet worth it?

  • Families with young children, pushchairs and a lot of luggage.
  • First-time visitors and anyone who does not know the airport, especially a large one such as Heathrow.
  • Older travellers or anyone who would rather have help with their bags.
  • Guests you are booking for, such as visiting relatives or business clients, so someone is there to welcome them.
  • Late-night arrivals, when you just want to be taken straight to the car.

If you are travelling light, know the airport well and do not mind a short walk to the pickup point, you can save the £10.

What if my flight is late?

Add your flight number when you book. We track your flight, so your pickup time moves if it lands early or late, with or without Meet & Greet. Every airport pickup includes 45 minutes of free waiting from the time your flight lands. Our guide to flight delays has more.
